"What Are You Doing For Unity?"
May 03, 2025 | By Chuck
“I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.” (Ephesians 4:1-3) Unity is one of the key essentials to the success of the local congregation. A church that is not unified has an inward focus and tends to be more interested in their own specific issues and problems. A church with disunity does not depict an accurate picture of Jesus to others. Unity is part of the foundation that keeps us on the right track and doing the right things for the Lord.
In the above cited verses, Paul encourages the church to pursue unity. He even shares some qualities like gentleness, patience, and love that will help us in our quest for unity. My question is, what are you doing for unity? Are you doing your part to pursue and promote unity within the congregation? Do you feel everything must be done your way? Do you believe your way is the right and only way? Or, for the sake of God’s family, do you extend grace, patience, love, and forgiveness to ensure unity among your brothers and sisters?
