"What's Your Influence?"

The Artemis 2 and its trip around the moon has been all the rage in the news lately. If you watch news or the weather broadcast on any channel, you are sure to have heard about the rocket, its crew, or the historic trip.
One thing I found interesting is that the pilot, Victor Glover, is a member of the Church of Christ. He worships faithfully with a congregation in Houston. When the news anchors listed things that the astronauts brought with them on their trip to the moon, some understandably brought letters, photographs, and family keepsakes. Victor brought his Bible and communion emblems since he would be gone on a Sunday. In every opportunity he’s had to speak about the trip, even when talking to people on earth on Easter Sunday, Victor gives all praise, gratitude, and glory to God. What an influence for God!
We may not all have the public platform of a now world-famous NASA astronaut who went to the moon. But we have a chance to influence those around us every day for Christ. I guess the question is, how are you doing? Do you work to promote Jesus and influence others for Him every day? Influencing others for Jesus isn’t “rocket science” (see what I did there). It’s simply living your faith out loud every day no matter where you are or who you are with.
Ask God to open doors and provide opportunities for you to influence others by your faith. And, ask God to help you to recognize those opportunities. Sometimes we miss chances to influence others for Jesus because we are so distracted with our own lives and plans. Every day we should pray for and look for opportunities to influence others for Jesus.
“Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving. At the same time, pray also for us, that God may open to us a door for the word…..” (Col. 4:2-3). “Walk in wisdom toward outsiders, making the best use of the time. Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person” (Col. 4:5-6).
