"Live Like Saints"

“But sexual immorality and all impurity or covetousness must not even be named among you, as is proper among saints”(Eph.5:3). Even though we may not feel like saints, if you’re a Christian God views you as a saint. As problematic and immoral as Corinth was Paul still addressed the church there as saints. (I Cor.1:2) Let’s be clear, Christians are not saints because they are so good, pure and better than others. Christians are considered saints by our Lord because of the precious and powerful blood of His Son Jesus. We could never be saints by our own merit, but only by contacting the blood of Jesus. When one is washed in the blood of Jesus at baptism God no longer sees him as a sinner but as His beloved child, a saint.
The challenging part about God viewing us as saints is that we’re to live like saints. There are things we must not do because we belong to our heavenly Father. There are things that shouldn’t be present in the Christians life because we are to live as saints now. In the above cited verse, Paul mentions how it is improper for saints to have anything to do with sexual immorality, impurity or covetousness. In other words, there shouldn’t be even a hint of any kind of immorality in or around the Christian’s life. God expects His children to live up to a higher standard than those of the world. God expects His children to live like saints.
